The beginnings of a collaborative space built by people in Bearwood

Make It Happen

Make it happen meetings

What are the meetings, when are they and who are they for?

Our Make It Happen meetings will be organised by Sally Taylor and will be focused initially on sharing the vision so far and working out, collaboratively, what the hub could be and should be. We’ll be encouraging discussion and debate, ideas and dreams. What is needed from a new space in Bearwood? How do we involve as many people as want to be involved in developing this thing? How can a space on the high street connect people to the other brilliant spaces and projects that go on all around the neighbourhood and in Smethwick? Who in Bearwood doesn’t get to reach their potential at the moment, but could do with encouragement and support? How? What are the ace things happening in Bearwood that we want more of as a community but don’t have space for? How can we create an income through coworking, flexible creche and other income generation ideas in order to make a community space financially sustainable?

The meetings will also look at the space at St Mary’s Church, who’ve agreed to work in partnership during this development stage to see if we can come up with a plan to bring the community buildings back into regular - constant! - use. How does the space itself need to be reconfigured to enable what we want to do? What will it take to bring the hall back into life?

Questions, questions! Will you help us answer them?

Deatils of Make It Happen meetings will be posted here as soon as they are confirmed.
