Introducing the Curiosity Cafe

Welcome to Bearwood Community Hub’s world where we can come together to learn from each other and solve local issues with creativity and positive action. The first “cafe” will be 19th May at Thimblemill Library.

Mind map from our Urban Rooms project showing places where people go, in different colours

The Curiosity Cafe adds to what we already do to help people connect, and it is very explicitly responding to what visitors to our Urban Room at Smethwick Library kept telling us: that we need more space and power to work together to develop solutions to local issues.

So whether you have a skill to share with someone else or a need to know how to do a particular thing (write a CV, publish a book, make a jumper, fix a fence…), if you have a clear idea about what needs to be improved locally and the energy to help take action, or if you want to contribute to our Community Guide maps (what’s your favourite restaurant, shop or place to get help?), the Curiosity Cafe is an opportunity to come together over a cuppa and get involved in the things that interest you.

It’s all a big experiment, will you join us?

For more information, our website has the details: https://www.bearwood.cc/curiositycafe and you can book onto a session via Eventbrite:

We still need a few volunteers, so if you think you can help with set up and/or hosting one of the tables in the cafe, please get in touch with Sally!
